I recently had the pleasure of doing maternity photos with my brother in law Joey and his beautiful girlfriend Carly. It’s always amazing doing a maternity session and getting to document such a pivotal time in a couples lives. Then there is a maternity session with family and that is even better. It’s so exciting to get to see the Pinkney clan grow and I can’t wait to meet this little one. Joey and Carly thank you for inviting me into this special time in your lives. Congratulations!! I know you are going to be amazing parents to this little girl.

This wedding was truly about family from start to finish. Both the groomsmen and the bridal party were made up of Brandy and Franco’s family and everyone at the wedding was there to celebrate the joining together of their two families. I’ve never seen a bride and groom show more emotion over the course of the day. Watching Franco get emotional as Brandy read her vows was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever witnessed during a ceremony. Seeing their families so overjoyed at being able to witness the two of them come together was amazing. And I mean I have never had a more fun dance floor than one where a pig made an appearance. All of the details of this day from the blue gem hues to the matching sunglasses came together to create a wonderful wedding for two very wonderful people.  Thank you Brandy and Franco for letting me be a part of your special day!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting up with an old friend to do some wonderful engagement photos. I have known Darian since middle school and ever since she started dating Casey we have joked about how I would do their photos when they got married one day. That is how sure she was that this would be the man she would walk down the isle to one day. And now that they are engaged we finally got to do pictures together to celebrate this milestone. Getting to document a very dear friend during an exciting time like this is such an honor. Darian and Casey, I had an amazing time doing photos with you. Your love for one another is beyond evident in the way you look at each other and laugh together. Thank you for inviting me into this time in your lives. We started our photos at Casey’s parents gorgeous property and then made our way up to the stunning lookout where Casey proposed and wow was it romantic!! Check out the photos below:

Where can I start with this session except to say WOW! This shoot was a woodland dream from start to finish. I have known Amanda for many years now and I had the pleasure of doing her maternity photos last year. We did the photos in the river during the summer and she ended up having a beautiful baby boy whom she aptly named River. So when she said she wanted to do a cake smash for River’s first birthday I knew it was going to be a blast. We went up to Garnet Valley in Summerland,  for a magical forest location that perfectly fit the “Where The Wild Things Are” theme. Amanda made an adorable mushroom cake and made all of decorations herself. Her thoughtfulness and creativity in bringing together her vision for the shoot amazed me and I am so honored to get to continue to document her family. So thank you to Amanda and of course Auntie Kyla for the wonderful day in the woods.

It must have been some pretty delicious cake that Amanda made Because River absolutely loved it!

After our cake smash adventures we cleaned River up in the lake and then went and did some portraits in the beautiful golden light.

Where do I even begin with these two!! I have known Jessa and Brandon since high school and I have always admired their relationship. They are one of the strongest couples I know. It was so great to get to meet up with them for engagement photos and get to reconnect. It’s so wonderful to see how they have grown and changed and one thing is for sure their relationship has only become even stronger after all these years. Their love is a testament to the power of commitment and it was so much fun to be able to capture that. When Jessa and I were first discussing photos I thought of a spot right away. Her and Brandon both love to get outdoors so what better spot than the beautiful Fintry Provincial Park. On our way there we got stopped by construction past West Kelowna and had to turn around and go all the way through Vernon instead. But Jessa and Brandon made the most of it and simply enjoyed the drive and I knew it was going to be a great day. Jessa and Brandon are one of those couples who could look at and just know they were going to make it. And now here they are celebrating their engagement and this wonderful new chapter in their lives. Thank you guys so much for having me along!! Check out the photos below:

From hiking up to waterfalls to hanging out in fields this engagement shoot had it all! These two are so easy going and fun to be around I had such a blast. We even took a shot on our way back with the truck pulled over to the side of the road and my directions something along the lines of “hey stop here”. So thank you Jessa and Brandon for being up for anything I had to throw at you and doing it all with amazing smiles and laughter.

When Matthew first approached me about doing photos with him and Bryttnie I was so excited! I love shooting in this beautiful Okanagan fall weather and nothing warms up the cold days quite like a romantic engagement shoot in the woods. There’s always a bit of a warm up period at the beginning of a shoot but with these two it felt like we were old friends. They were instantly comfortable and laughing. You can really tell that they have a deep love for one another and are already a wonderful family.  The fall colors were lovely but what really made this day wonderful was getting to spend it with two genuine and kind people. Thank you Matthew and Bryttnie for allowing me to be a part of this special time in your lives. Check out the photos below:

After our walk down Misson Creek Park we made our way up to Green Acres Organics and had some fun in the apple orchards.  Nothing says cozy November day quite like drinking tea and snuggling among-st the beautiful red fall apples. I can’t say enough about these two and how sweet they are! And check out that ring how gorgeous is it!!!

I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with the Lewis family once again, this time for family photos. I have known Jessica and Graham ever since I photographed their wedding a couple years back. Not only was it one of my first weddings but they are now some of my longest running clients. Now that I am starting to get the opportunity to do yearly sessions with my clients it has become my favorite kind of shoot. I have watched Jessica and Graham go from being engaged and getting married to starting a family of their own. And I must say that being able to watch their relationship grow and blossom into a beautiful family bond has been both an honor and a privilege. Last year when I did their family photos June was only a couple months old and now she is a spunky rambunctious toddler that is walking and talking and curious about the world around her. It has been so wonderful getting to see you guys continue to grow as a family and I look forward to being able to do so for many years to come. Check out the amazing day we had at Mill Creek Park in the photos below:

I have known the Bindons for years now. I first met Kaitie and Jeremy when they were maid of honor and best man in a wedding I was photographing. After that first meeting I instantly knew I wanted to shoot them again. And I have done there family photos ever since. They are both such kind-hearted people and you can tell that they love their family very much. It was so great to get to meet up with them again as the last time I saw them I was doing Amelia’s newborn photos and now she’s a rambunctious giggly two year old and they have a new baby as well. This brood was so much fun to photograph. It was at times crazy and chaotic but that’s part of why I love this family. They are real and honest and raising some awesome strong willed, not to mention adorable kids. This session was part newborn photos and part family photos and I loved doing some of each. Thank you Kaitie and Jeremy for inviting me to document your family once again and I look forward to watching you all grow in the future.

While my husband Mike and I were in Victoria I had the privilege of second shooting a wedding for Kelsey Goodwin of KGOODPHOTO. And what a privilege it was! Dwane and Lindsey got married at the stunning Point No Point resort in Sooke. They had a lovely and very intimate ceremony with just their closest family and friends. And wow what a venue! They had their ceremony on a platform overlooking the ocean and the views where amazing. I am so thankful I got to be part of their special day. Check out the photos and see the amazing scenery for yourself:
